Terry McConnell is desperate for his 10-year-old son, Malky, to get a trial for Bolton Wanderers - so desperate that Malky misses a training session.

2. Episode Two

With Coach Blackley in hospital recovering from his seizure, Terry McConnell reckons he's all but got the job as Ashburn United coach. But fitness coach Dr. Kaskar has designs on the job too. The wheeling and dealing begins, and Terry and Kaskar begin to resemble Obama and Clinton in their attempts to lobby Ashburn United owner Sandra Farrell.

Doom and gloom for Terry McConnell as dishy Frenchman Raymond Mercier is installed as coach and then disaster for everyone as chairman Sandra Farrell announces that husband Vincent cannot afford to bankroll Ashburn United's trip to Birmingham for the North and Midlands Under 11's Cup. Terry stoops lower than usual in his efforts to raise the money to pay for the trip.

The team are on their way to the North and Midland's Under 11's Cup and Terry McConnell is hell bent on Bolton scout Geoff Hinchcliffe coming to Birmingham to run the rule over his lad Malky. But how does he pay Hinchcliffe's expenses? Terry is stumped until wife Janice lets slip that she's scrimped and saved 400 pounds for a special weekend. He wouldn't steal cash from his wife... would he?
