Saxondale (BBC2) is exquisitely awful. Then again, if you like your comedy with a dash of agony, you'll enjoy it.
Nancy Banks-Smith, The Guardian, 20th June 2006From seeing just the first episode it seems unlikely Saxondale is going to capture the public imagination in the way Alan Partridge, or even Paul Calf did, But there was enough in this episode to warrant further viewings.
