Sorry, I Didn't Know. Chizzy Akudolu

ITV1 has ordered a new series of panel show Sorry, I Didn't Know.

Focusing on black history, the comedy usually airs on Sunday evenings during October or November and is expected to return to the slot again in 2025, with five new episodes confirmed today.

Regular team captain Chizzy Akudolu will step up to host Series 6 whilst regular presenter Jimmy Akingbola is filming American drama Bel-Air in Log Angeles. Replacing her as team captain opposite Eddie Kadi will be black comedy royalty Richard Blackwood.

Producers TriForce promise Series 6 is "guaranteed to feature plenty of mind-blowing questions and even wilder answers combined with the show's raucous chat and inevitable one-upmanship between the ultra-competitive team captains".

Co-creator and executive producer Fraser Ayres says: "Chizzy has been part of the SIDK family since our pilot in 2016 and was amazing when she hosted an episode last series, so it's great to see her in the hosting seat. And in Richard we have the perfect sparring partner for Eddie - they're long-time friends and he has already shown he's a brilliant and hilarious guest, so we are thrilled he will be joining the team on the regular. Chizzy will have her work cut out keeping them both in line but we have full faith in her to keep things on track and with her particular brand of chaos in the mix as well, what could possibly go wrong?!"

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning, added: "Sorry, I Didn't Know is infectiously funny and that is testament to the series returning for an impressive sixth series. This season Chizzy is stepping into Jimmy's hot seat, and I can't wait to see her take the helm."

Free tickets for the studio recordings in July are now available.
