  • The Unofficial Science Of Die Hard, coming to Sky Max this Christmas, is presented by Chris Ramsey and Paul Chowdhry
  • Greg James and Maisie Adam team up for The Unofficial Science Of Indiana Jones, also on Sky in December
  • The two new episodes follow on from the Home Alone special, which was Sky's biggest original entertainment launch of 2022

Sky Max has ordered two more episodes of The Unofficial Science Of..., the format in which comedians investigate the stunts in famous films.

Sky says: "For over four decades Die Hard and Indiana Jones have captivated audiences with jaw-dropping action sequences and thrilling adventures, but could you survive some of the infamous stunts in these films? The Unofficial Science Of... returns to Sky Max with two new specials: The Unofficial Science Of Die Hard and The Unofficial Science Of Indiana Jones.

"This Christmas, Chris Ramsey and Paul Chowdhry, alongside engineer Zoe Laughlin, will scientifically assess stunts from much-loved Christmas action film, Die Hard. From rooftop escapes to walking over shattered glass, Chris and Paul will put the stunts to the test to discover how to tackle them in real life. Along the way, the pair will set out to answer the biggest question of all: is Die Hard a Christmas film?

"Coming soon to Sky Max, Greg James and Maisie Adam team up to take on family favourite, Indiana Jones. Join the pair as they learn how to dodge poisonous darts, outrun giant boulders, and survive fireballs.

"Whilst both duos explore the stunts of the films, Alex Brooker returns to explore the sets and meet iconic cast members to hear their favourite on-set memories."

The specials follow on from The Unofficial Science Of Home Alone. Aired in December with James Acaster and Guz Khan as presenters, it was Sky's biggest original entertainment launch of 2022.

Talking about the new Christmas special, Chris Ramsey says: "As a die-hard Die Hard fan, I'm chuffed to be working on this amazing project! It's honestly one of my favourite films of all time, and this is almost like I get to be in it a bit, which is incredible! Who wouldn't want to have a go at some of the most iconic action sequences to ever exist? Don't try this at home!"

Talking about the Indiana Jones episode, Greg James comments: "I spent most of my childhood completely obsessed with recreating special effects and stunts and as I've grown up, life got in the way of carrying this on. So, when Sky asked if I wanted to see how some of the most impressive and famous stunts in the history of cinema were made, I've never said 'YES PLEASE' quicker. Maisie and I are going to have so much fun."

Tom O'Brien from production company Naked says: "It's great to be back working with Sky on two more Unofficial Science specials. The unique mix of comedy, big stunts, seasonal cheer, and premium sheen make them a must-see spectacular. One that's really blown up with the viewers."

Commissioner Shirley Jones concludes: "I'm excited to be collaborating once more with Naked on such an original and entertaining format, and I'm so looking forward to watching Chris, Paul, Greg and Maisie take on some of the most iconic and well-loved stunts in the history of cinema."
