BBC Two has ordered a second series of Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle.

The first series of the stand-up show only managed to attract modest viewing figures when it was broadcast in March 2009, however the six-part series was critically acclaimed by the press, and heavily-praised by fellow-comics and many stand-up fans. Additionally, several thousand fans signed a petition set up by a British Comedy Guide member in December asking for the show to be re-commissioned.

Producer Armando Iannucci confirmed the news today by Tweeting: "There'll be a 2nd series of Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. Huzzah! Huzzah!"
