Scottish comedian Limmy is working on a new TV comedy show.

Limmy, real name Brian Limond, worked on three series and some specials of the inventive BBC Scotland sketch comedy format Limmy's Show! between 2010 and 2013 but reportedly turned down the offer to make a fourth series.

However, as he revealed to Glasgow Live, he is now working on a new sketch show idea that will be in a 'DIY style' much like the original videos he made for his website before he jumped to TV.

He explained: "I want to do something that's like a sketch show but back to that authentic, homemade feeling, like back before YouTube, just sticking videos up and that.

"There were certain videos on my site that I re-did for Limmy's Show. But doing that, polishing them up, is not going to work now - because it all looks professionally lit. You know there's a crew behind the camera and this isnae just a guy doing funny phone calls, making it himself. It loses something and I want to go back to that thing I experienced recently doing things on Vine, which is that handheld, rough-as-f*ck look, just me trying to be funny."

The BBC is currently deciding on whether to commission the format.

He says: "I thought 'will this just be an iPlayer thing?' But the aim is for it to actually be on the telly. I don't know how it will go with all these guidelines about audio and video quality. It might look too much like a guy making something himself for them to want it. But we'll see."

Limond also revealed in the interview that he has previously pitched several sitcom ideas, including one involving his fantasy TV show host character Falconhoof, but the ideas were "knocked back at the last minute".

Limond was talking to publicise That's Your Lot, his new collection of 29 short stories. Read the full interview on Glasgow Live

News on whether Limmy's new TV project is to become a reality is expected later in the year.

Not in the UK?

Fear not! Many items can still be ordered. Amazon in the UK delivers to many international territories, whilst their Australia, USA and Canada stores also supply many equivalent or imported items.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
