ITV has signed agreements with Just for Laughs and NextUp to publish a large number of stand-up specials on ITVX, its new streaming platform.

The network says it will make "ITVX the exclusive free to air home for some of the best UK and international stand-up comedy this year and beyond. The stand-up content will be streaming alongside a roster of new scripted comedy, making ITVX a destination for comedy fans."

The deal with NextUp will see a selection of "sixty of the best UK stand-up routines" launch on ITVX in January 2023. This will include comedy from Tommy Tiernan, Andy Parsons, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Jason Byrne, Phil Kay, Hal Cruttenden, Daliso Chaponda, Jordan Brookes, Laura Lexx, Jonathan Pie, Jess Fostekew and Lost Voice Guy, amongst many others. The episodes available will be refreshed regularly from NextUp's library.

ITVX's deal with Canadian comedy festival Just for Laughs will see its collection of specials added to the ITV platform too. Eddie Izzard is amongst their catalogue, as is international acts such as Howie Mandel, Jim Jefferies, Michael Che, Ken Jeong, Tiffany Haddish, Will Forte, William H Macy, Jeff Goldblum, Ellie Kemper and Trevor Noah.
