The people in the background of the swimming baths in the first series aren't extras, the Ladywell Leisure Centre in Lewisham were only willing to close one half of the pool. They soon closed down due to asbestos, and so the second series used the Shell Centre in Lambeth instead.

Simon Godley and Tymarrah first performed the sketches about Herman, the man with the mail order bride, on the sketch show Comedy Nation. Godley wrote the sketches with John Irwin. Sean liked the sketches and wanted it in this show.

Flashy Snaps, the photo developing and printing shop in the episode Dead Swan, is in the same place as the electrical repair shop run by Kevin Eldon's character in series 2. Similarly, Mama Cabs, the cab firm in the first episode, is also the pub used in the series.
