Sitcom Mission

Baeliffs

By: Craig Hazell & Tom Holmes

Sitcom Mission 2025 finalist

Chrissy left Tetherby a decade ago when her parents died and never looked back. That is, until her Aunty Sue leaves her the family business she was supposed to inherit years before. And while Chrissy might have changed, Tetherby certainly hasn't. She may have had her eyes opened by the bright lights of the wider world, but her hometown isn't ready for Chrissy 2.0.

Bailiffs will explore the clash of cultures that is Chrissy and her past, but also delve into what made her leave in the first place, why she never came back and now that she is...why, to her surprise, she might end up staying.

Each episode will see Chrissy and the firm tackle a new job, meeting a revolving door of people from Chrissy's past as well as Tetherby's vast array of characters. She is constantly learning how to do a job she didn't want, as well as facing the demons from her past she thought she'd escaped. The difficulty with running away from your problems is that they're still there when you come back. We learn that she was engaged when she left Tetherby ten years ago, that she's left a similar wake of destruction in London, and that maybe there's some parts of the story she's been keeping to herself.
