  • Peter Kay's next autobiography, out 9th October 2025, will be titled Peter Kay's Diary: The Monthly Memoir of a Boy from Bolton
  • Described as "his most heartfelt and hilarious autobiography yet", the book takes "a whistlestop journey through his life, in a year"
  • He says: "Think of this autobiography as a twelve-month subscription to my memories and meanderings across the calendar year"

New book Peter Kay's Diary: The Monthly Memoir of a Boy from Bolton will be published on 9th October 2025.

The publication, which has a cover spoofing the movie poster for Bridget Jones's Diary, is to be available in hardback and eBook formats. Kay has also read the 320 page offering for an audiobook version.

The comic says: "Think of this autobiography as a twelve-month subscription to my memories and meanderings across the calendar year. With each month reflecting a different phase of my life, complete with dodgy decisions, bizarre plot twists and more than a few laugh-out-loud moments."

The publishers say: "Peter Kay is back - and funnier than ever - with his most heartfelt and hilarious autobiography yet. Take a whistlestop journey through his life, in a year. From hitting the gym in January, falling in love in February and a nostalgic trip to Ireland at Easter, to buying his first house in May. Then it's summer holidays at Butlins, a September wedding and, before you know it, he's packing away the Halloween decorations and sipping a glass of Bailey's in front of the Christmas telly.

"With his trademark warmth and wit, Peter offers a unique take on the calendar year - in a way only he can - cementing his place as one of Britain's best-loved comedians and a true national treasure."

Kay, who is still on tour with his live show until February 2026, published the autobiography T.V.: Big Adventures On The Small Screen in September 2023, a follow on from 2009's Saturday Night Peter, which charted his rise to fame.

The comedian's first book - The Sound Of Laughter - is still the biggest-selling hardback autobiography of all time, selling "well over a million copies" across all print editions since publication in 2006.

Peter Kay's Diary: The Monthly Memoir of a Boy from Bolton is available to pre-order now.
