Writing Funny

We assume, because you are reading this, you write, or want to write, comedy. Many of you will want to write a sitcom. Some of you will write with the most perfect spelling and grammar, producing beautiful, neatly laid out scripts.

But, here's the thing: if you want to be a successful comedy writer, those scripts will have to be funny. There is no two ways about it: it doesn't matter how many other boxes your work ticks, if you don't write funny material you will not be able to progress with your ambition.

Bizarrely, the "funny" is the element...
