Musical Comedy Awards

Entry is now open for the Musical Comedy Awards 2019.

The competition, now in its 11th year, is an annual celebration of the UK's best up-and-coming musical comedy acts. Previous winners have included Abandoman, Rob Carter, David Elms and Rebecca Humphries.

The deadline to enter is 9th December 2018.

To put yourself forward you need to post a video of your original musical comedy material to the MCA Facebook page. Entrants should also fill out the application form found via the MCA website.

40 selected acts will be invited to perform in the heats, which will take place in London on Saturday afternoons from mid-January. Stiff & Kitsch, Tina T'urner Tea Lady, Jay Foreman, Archie Henderson, Will Hislop, Roisin & Chiara, Mitch Benn and Micky P Kerr will headline the heats.

The final will take place in April.

The organisers confirm: "After we have selected the top 40 from the uploads we will begin the season of shows, which will begin in January and come to a conclusion with another great final at the renovated Bloomsbury on April 13th."
