The truth about agents

Newer writers feel under great pressure to get an agent. They think that signing with a respected agency will immediately secure them the career they desire. Unfortunately, that simply isn't the case.

For some writers, including established writers, it can come as a blow when they realise the mere fact of representation does not automatically lead to the opportunities they'd expected. And they might be surprised to learn that some unrepresented creatives are ploughing their own furrow (more) successfully.
