Writing in his latest newsletter, the stand-up comedian revealed that his show dates on the 12th and 13th April at the Palace Theatre in Southend are being set aside for filming.

The BBC has previously screened four series of Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle.

The stand-up says the filming is also for a DVD and download version of his show to be captured. Tickets are now available for these two shows.

He has been performing versions of this new show live since 2016, with the tour set to finish with a run at the Southbank Centre at the end of April. The blurb says: "Join him on these special evenings as he finally abandons two hours of monetisable material and performs the show for the very last time. When it's gone it's gone." Tickets

Stewart Lee has previously announced he intends to take a long break from stand-up following the conclusion of the Content Provider tour.

The statement he has released said: "Stewart is 50 years-old in 2018 and, after performing these shows, he intends to take the longest break from stand-up he's had since his four year disappearance at the start of the century."
