British Comedy Guide, 22nd August 2022

Having gentle fun at the expense of A-listers without making them look too foolish, Graham Norton's chatshow shtick is the best around. Tonight, with the summer blockbuster season well upon us, he welcomes Mark Wahlberg, promoting Transformers: The Last Knight, Tom Holland of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Woody Harrelson and Andy Serkis, lately monkeying around in War for the Planet of the Apes. Plus, Alison Moyet performs.

Our Graham's known for putting together quite the celebrity sofa to ring in the New Year and with 2016 imminent, he doesn't disappoint. Local lad done good Eddie Redmayne (who joined Norton on the sofa this time last year too) is back for another night of New Year magic alongside Hollywood's Queen of 2015, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are making up the numbers as they drop by to talk about their latest film comedy, Daddy's Home, and music makers Years & Years join the merry bunch in the studio to sing out 2015 with their hit song, Shine.

Radio Times review

Graham Norton will have good reason to feel anxious before this show, with Mark Wahlberg as a returning guest. Last time the actor appeared on the red sofa he was rather, ahem, refreshed.

It was an excruciating hour as Wahlberg sat on Norton's knee and stroked his chest, to the host's obvious embarrassment ("OK, that's wrong, don't touch the man there") as he shooed the slurring star away.

So let's see if Wahlberg can steer clear of the red wine when he guests with Seth MacFarlane to talk about their new film, Ted 2, the follow-up to the foul-mouthed but curiously touching Ted. Music is from Cyndi Lauper, the girl who just wants to have fun.

Mark Wahlberg says Graham Norton antics pre-planned

When Mark Wahlberg went on The Graham Norton Show back in March, it went down as one of the all time great car-crash chat show guest appearances. It appears everyone was wrong. According to Walhlberg himself, his erratic behaviour was pre-planned.

Graham Norton: I don't judge Mark Wahlberg

Graham Norton has said all is forgiven after Mark Wahlberg appeared on his chat show, apparently having had a few too many.

Metro, 8th May 2013

He's made a big impact as a star in such movies as Boogie Nights, The Departed and The Fighter but for some of us, Mark Wahlberg will always be Marky Mark. Chances are, though, that Graham Norton won't have the front to request a pose in shiny white Calvins - Wahlberg is very serious about his acting and is in Britain to talk about latest film Broken City, a crime thriller co-starring Russell Crowe. Now that must have been a punchy set. There's more movie talk with Shame star Michael Fassbender, soon to be seen in a live-action take on gaming sensation Assassin's Creed, plus laughs from Sarah Silverman and music from Laura Mvula.

With two guests who have never strayed far from controversy, tonight's edition promises to be lively. As rap singer Marky Mark, Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg was a hothead often involved in fights, although he's more controlled these days and is promoting his new film Broken City.

Satirical comedian Sarah Silverman found fame on Saturday Night Live, where pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable soon became her trademark.

Jane Rackham, Radio Times, 8th February 2013

He may be ubiquitous these days but Graham Norton's spiciness and sass, backed with smart ad-libbing skills, still make him a talk-show treat. Tonight the Telegraph columnist chats to actor Mark Wahlberg, in town with new action thriller Contraband, along with singer and actress Minnie Driver and comedian Jo Brand.
