Cariad Lloyd is to become a contestant on BBC Radio 4's Round Britain Quiz.

The long-running quiz, hosted by Kirsty Lang, sees teams of regular contestants representing different parts of the United Kingdom. They answer a range of cryptic questions, written by both regular question setters and members of the public.

Lloyd is joining the Welsh team on the programme, playing alongside crime writer Myfanwy Alexander.

She will debut in the opening episode of this year's series, which will air on 11th March at 3pm. In this episode, the Welsh team face the South of England team, consisting of stand-up and star of The Chase Paul Sinha, as well as writer and Private Eye journalist Marcus Berkmann. These two teams will also play each other again in a reverse fixture later in the series.
