TV review: Ghosts Series 2 Episode 1

There's still enough going on here that it's a show I'm extremely fond of, the cast are without exception bloody superb, and the concept is an appealing one indeed. But whereas the majority of the previous series were of the four star and more variety this was definitely one of the weaker episodes, enjoyable for sure, but lacking in moments which would make anyone laugh out loud over and over again.

Ghosts Series 2 review

It's been more than a year since Ghosts were on our screens - but it seems like they have never been away, such is the way these spooks from down the ages already feel so familiar.

How to have an alternative August

Whilst I completely understand how challenging and mentally draining it must be for comedians to create material at this moment in time, the reason why many online comedy fans may be opting for alternative comedians is perhaps because it is too early for audiences to hear jokes about Covid-19, as we're still in the thick of it and to be frank, audiences want some escapism.

Review: After Life season two, Netflix

There is certainly a lot going on in series two. This series overview barely scratches the surface and there are some crucial details we haven't revealed. Does it surpass the first series? I'm not sure. That made such an impact it was always going to be hard to beat. But there is no doubt that this sequel will grab you from the very start and keep you grabbed until the very end.

My night at a Cheese, Sex and Self-isolation Party

This streaming event hosted by Anna Mann (AKA Colin Hoult) on NextUp was a valiant experiment in performing live comedy without an audience.

Live review: Sketch Off final 2020

It wasn't a great surprise that the Leicester Square Theatre was not quite full for this year's Sketch Off Final. What was more of a surprise was that the line-up for the final was not full of sketch acts.

Sketch Off! Final 2020 review

For a sketch comedy competition, there weren't a lot of sketch groups. Instead, the Leicester Square Theatre's Sketch Off! final last night was dominated by solo character acts - either wise to the fact that they won't have to share the usually meagre financial rewards of the genre by going it alone - or taking no chances by not performing within two metres of anyone else.
