American TV station VH1 has ordered a 60-minute pilot of Channel 4's Star Stories. The US version is to be produced later in the year by Lee Hupfield, who works for Objective Productions, the creators of the British version.

The comedy, currently in its second series in the UK, is distributed by Channel 4 International. The format lampoons famous celebrities such as the Beckhams, Take That, Tom Cruise and George Michael. This week's episode parodies Britney Spears (Friday, 9:30pm, C4 - click for preview clip).

Star Stories is not the only Channel 4 show being remade for American audiences. Objective is currently making a version of Peep Show, and is making a six-part series starring Darren Brown for the Sci-Fi channel.
