BBC3 comedy Pulling gets a second series

The BBC have announced that they have ordered a second series of Pulling from production company Silver River.

The first series of the comedy, which stars Sharon Horgan, was shown on BBC3 last year. The six episodes followed the experiences of Donna, a thirtysomething woman who ditched her reliable fiance to move in with a group of single girls.

Whilst Pulling gained only average viewing figures when it was broadcast online and on BBC3 in November it was a hit with the critics and this is probably what has prompted the BBC to give the green light to a second series.

TV analysts expect that the BBC will try to expand Pulling's audience by following their now fairly common tactic of repeating the series on BBC2 shortly after it has finished on BBC3. Lead Balloon, Ideal, The Thick of It, Nighty Night and The Smoking Room are just five comedies from a long list of BBC3/BBC4 series that have been repeated on BBC2.
