Alexander Armstrong has signed up to present the pilot episode of a new comedy panel show.

What Do You Know is a new format in which three 'razor-sharp' comedians don't just answer the questions, they have to think them up too. Producers say: "With categories drawn at random, they could be dealing with anything from Scooby Doo to Viagra, Wayne Rooney to the Great Wall of China."

All the answers will be verified live during the recording by the show's resident 'Fact Checker'. Dave Lamb - who has a long list of comedy acting credits to his name, but is now best known as the voice of Come Dine With Me - will use the internet to confirm to Alexander Armstrong what is the true correct answer.

Alexander Armstrong has previously hosted 2006 panel show Best Of The Worst, guest hosted Have I Got News For You more than 15 times, and currently fronts BBC Two's hit daytime gameshow Pointless, which has already notched up over 100 episodes since its launch in 2009.

The producers add: "Unpredictable and wildly funny, What Do You Know is the dream mix of jokes, weird trivia, and witty banter."

The pilot will be recorded at The ITV London Studios on Friday 21st January 2011. To be in the audience see our free tickets page
