Lenny Henry

Lenny Henry will be the latest star to get up close and personal with QA Live, a format in which the top names in entertainment talk about their career and answer questions from fans in an intimate environment.

The actor, writer, producer and musician will be appearing at London's legendary 100 Club this November for the one-off event. There's unlikely to be another chance to enjoy his company in such a relaxed and special setting.

This year he's written the acclaimed TV drama Danny And The Human Zoo, appeared on stage in Education Rita, and been knighted for his services to charity. Somehow in between this he made a TV series about the blues, which has led to an album of classic covers and new songs. He will be talking about this release at the event, as well as looking back at his career to date.

Music has always played a huge part in his comedy, a trait he saw in one of his heroes, Richard Pryor. As you may recall, one of Lenny's classic early sketches was a spectacular parody of Thriller and his Theophilius P Wildbeest character took part in an outrageous 'Battle of the Codpieces' against Tom Jones for Comic Relief.

Additionally, he set his Radio 4 sitcom Rudy's Rare Records in a rundown reggae store in Birmingham, later performing it as an acclaimed theatre show with a live band.

After a theatre detour in Othello that one critic described as "the best Shakespeare debut I have ever seen", Henry once again returned to music. Lenny Gets The Blues was a three part documentary for Sky featuring the likes of Van Morrison, Jools Holland, Tinie Tempah and Tom Jones (this time they left the codpieces at home). Performing with the likes of Laura Mvula and Mica Paris proved so inspiring he recorded and part wrote his own blues album, New Millennium Blues

After talking about his career in comedy and entertainment and his life-long love of music (from pop to ska and funk) at the QA Live event, Lenny will also perform a couple of songs live, with musical support from Matt & Al.

And the icing on the cake is that the evening's host will be recent Emmy-winning writer and one-time NME legend, the extremely funny and incisive David Quantick.

This offer has now finished.
