There are many traditions and routines linked to the Edinburgh Festival, and one of them is that fire alarms will regularly go off to interrupt performances. This time it was The Gilded Balloon to go first.

So what do you do when you're halfway through your show and the whole building has to be evacuated because of an alarm? Well, if your roots are in street performing, then you just continue the show outside! That's what variety artist Mat Ricardo did, as can be seen from the video footage here:
