Ania Magliano: bad hair and overthinking

Can you give us a sneak peek into some of the universal insecurities you'll be exploring in your show? What's the most relatable aspect of your show that you think audiences will connect with?

My show is about a bad haircut I got, which I think is a pretty universal experience. If you haven't had a haircut that was so bad it sent you into an existential crisis then first of all, I hope you're enjoying your perfect life and second of all, it's coming for you one day. I think the actual insecurity that happens when you have a bad haircut is the reminder that you're not always in control of your life, and there will be moments in all of our lives when we feel vulnerable and angry about what's happened. And we all cope with that in different ways - that's what I'd like to explore. I also just want to bitch about my hairdresser.

How would you describe your quarter-life living experience in just three words?

Mostly haircut based.

If you had to create a slogan for your comedy style, what would it be?

Ania Magliano: She overthinks so you don't have to!

What's the best piece of advice you've received as a comedian, and who gave it to you?

My best friend Chloe Petts told me to tell myself I'm a Big Game Player before a scary gig, and that's still what I do before any gig I'm nervous about. I just say it in my head though, please don't imagine me in the green room talking to myself in the mirror like some sort of psycho.

What's the most ridiculous piece of advice you've ever received as a comedian? (No need to drop names this time... unless?)

After I got my bad haircut, another comedian just suggested I could wear a hat on stage. Insane. When have you EVER seen someone pull that off?
