Mothers: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions

The team behind Mothers answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show.

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

Joshan and Luke met aged 6 at school (1999), where their first foray into comedy involved a double-act deemed "too electric" for Mrs Lyndam's seating plan (2003). Forced into separation by the establishment, their career hit rock bottom - until university where they joined the Cambridge Footlights and met Archie, who is now desperately trying to piece together the tatters of a dying friendship.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. We are good liars.
2. We are bad liars.
3. Josh once wrestled a snake.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

A gag-light, painfully bland, cringe-inducing hour-that-feels-like-four of slow-burners-that-never-extinguish about Pokemon Go and Brexit.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

We're currently developing a new technique whereby we stand on each other's shoulders, wear a ten foot long trench coat and give out flyers for 'High on Life: The World's Tallest Man'. It's confusing and not directing people to our own show, but the elevated height makes us feel important and therefore loved.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

Three words: Edinburgh. BINGE. Festival.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

Well I know I won't miss being STIFLED. (TAKE THE HINT GRANDPA IT'S CALLED A SHARED ROOM).

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Hot tip: We've heard about this wicked new attraction called Arthur's Seat. Thanks to Mother Nature for vomiting out her innards for amblers' delight.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Without question The Right Hon. John Prescott fills every slot - not a comedian per se but saw him flyering outside C Nova and think he needs a leg-up.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Kanye West. Downloaded his album and did'nae pay :s

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

It's a free comedy about three layabouts who won't grow up and leave home. It's high-energy and accessible to everyone - expect huge parody club bangers, sharp twists and turns and a bit of heart to top it all off.

'Mothers' is at Just The Tonic at The Community Project at 1:30pm until the 28th August. Listing
