The Boy returns with his award-winning show. It's still good. The silent comedy show that has created a lot of talk returns to Edinburgh by popular demand. Stand-up with no talking, this show combines absurdity with genius. Through clever and charming humour, The Boy creates a world of possibilities where the only certainty is laughter. You'll laugh, you'll scream and ultimately end up like The Boy - lost for words. 'A truly magical experience' ***** (Chortle), 'Utterly spectacular! Endlessly inventive, hysterically funny. Sublime physical lunacy. Fight for a ticket' (Tim Arthur, Time Out).

Blending stand-up comedy, mime, vaudeville and puppetry, The Boy With Tape On His Face was the runaway hit of last year's Edinburgh Fringe, scooping myriad five star reviews and an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for best newcomer. Now there's another chance to catch this delightful, charming and witty award-winning show as it returns to the festival for two weeks only.

The brainchild of New Zealand stand-up Sam Wills, Tape Face appeals to the child in all of us. Not to say that Wills' act isn't clever - it is. Wills has created a charming character who opens up a world of singing shoes, mischievous dustbins, willing audience participation and the heart-warming power of gaffer-tape. Even more, The Boy With Tape On His Face offers an antithesis to the many motor mouth comedians on the circuit.

Non-stop talking and tricks is how Wills started out; a successful stand-up and street performer, his comedy was already getting attention before he came up with The Boy, mainly to challenge himself. His invention, however, has been a global success, picking up awards left, right and centre and captivating audiences from one side of the world to the other.

Wills' ingenuous character - playfully referred to as Tape Face or The Boy - is a breath of fresh air that has captured many imaginations, including that of game designers. Yes, Tape Face is set to star in his own video game for the BBC.

Beautiful, uplifting and, above all, funny, The Boy With Tape On His Face harks back to an innocent bygone era yet remains totally of its time and one of the most strikingly original shows out there.
