Three men stand in front of you using their voices to make you laugh. No observational gags. We won't mention our girlfriends or lack thereof. We won't discuss how we got into comedy or how Facebook exists. James Bran ('SYTYF' semi-finalist 2010) "his quirky performance showcases his talent as both actor and comic" **** (ThreeWeeks), Stuart Hossack (Chortle Student semi-finalist 2011) "very original and very funny" ********* (Pugwash News) and Will Ainsworth "a perfect balance between a surrealist approach and very well written gags" ********* (Pugwash News). Three 20 minute stand-up sets, each with a strong sense of narrative and structure. Individual performances are linked to create a coherent show devised specifically for the Fringe. There are characters, jokes and music (soundtrack not songs).

The Stitches story starts in Southampton in 2010, when Stuart and Will set out to promote a different environment for comedy with their regular comedy nights, encouraging performers to take risks rather than play safe, to challenge audiences rather than pandering to them, to try something original. With support from Angela Wakefield, the club has gone from strength to strength, opening in new venues and in new towns. There are Stitches nights Basingstoke, Brighton (which hosted Simon Munnery), Cardiff, Eastbourne and at two venues in Southampton.

The Comedians

Stuart Hossack has been performing regularly since early 2010. He made it to the Semi Finals of the Chortle student competition and the final 20 of the BBC New Comedy Awards 2011 and is through to the semi final of So You Think You're Funny this year too. He has recently started playing in more established clubs to larger audiences and has been praised for being 'very original and very funny' (Pugwash News)

James Bran has performed in three Fringe shows, garnering some appreciative reviews from both ThreeWeeks; "Creative and rather unusual, it opens the show with a high and Bran's a hard act to follow," and The List "Promising newcomer." In 2010 he was a So You Think You're Funny semi-finalist. Most recently he has been MC for the Comics at Play nights run by Crack Comedy.

Will Ainsworth had a residency at Take Out Comedy Club in Hong Kong last year and is now gigging across the UK. He won the CCU Comedy Festival in 2009 and has reached the Final of the ongoing Jokers! Joker of the year competition this year. He has been described as 'a perfect balance between a surrealist approach and very well written gags' (Pugwash News).
