In 2002, John Osborne won a competition on John Peel's Radio One show. His prize was a box of records that took eight years to listen to. This is an ode to radio, those records and anyone who's ever sought solace in wireless.

This show features a selection of records previously owned by the late John Peel. Many are very rare recordings by obscure and now defunct bands, and this is a unique opportunity for any Peel fans.

John Peel's Shed is adapted from John Osborne's acclaimed debut novel Radio Head: Up And Down The Dial Of British Radio - Radio 4's Book Of The Week - which tells the story of what happened when John decided to listen to a different radio station every day, all day, for a month. His true story journey took him from data entry at Anglia Windows, via interviewing radio greats such as Nicholas Parsons and Mark Radcliffe; to presenting his own local radio show.

Directed by Joe Dunthorne (Writer of the novel Submarine).

John Osborne is a writer and performance poet based in Norwich. His debut book Radio Head (Simon & Schuster) was published in 2007 and re-published due to critical acclaim in 2009. His second book The Newsagent's Window (Simon & Schuster 2010) tells the story of the year John spent replying to adverts in his local newsagent's window. He is a member of the poetry collective Aisle 16, who won the Time Out Critics' Choice Of The Year Award in 2005, and have regularly headlined festivals all over the world.

John Osborne will be appearing daily at The Poetry Takeaway - the world's first purpose-built mobile poetry emporium - serving up bespoke poems in ten minutes or less all month (Aug 4-28, Bristo Square). John also appears in poetry triple-header, Aisle 16 R Kool, with Luke Wright & Tim Clare (Aug 6-27, 9.55, Banshee Labryinth).
