That would be a rubbish plot twist but would fit the RTD love of the 'it all goes wrong and then someone hits the reset button' plot, but on a par with Dallas' 'it was all a dream...'.
But it could also mean that there is a new doctor created in a parallel world, which would explain the title of one of the specials next year which is called 'the other doctor'.
I've just read another (IMO more likely and sensible) theory myself. I won't divulge or zooo will flood me, but wouldn't be particularly clichéd or anything.
