Lesley Garrett certainly is awesome, but there are many other awesome opera singers. I agree with Adam, people don't seek it out, then suddenly 'love' it when it becomes a sports anthem, or when the singer has a commercially marketable personality. However, if that brings it to the masses then there can't be any harm in it.
