40th anniversary today of the tragic death of Karen Carpenter.

Fantastic voice.

I secretly loved some of their stuff but you couldn't admit that at the time.

Nonsense. I liked to be contrary. Still do in fact.

Or do you?

Wha? Explain yourself man! 😎

I see that it's Grammy time in the USA. Does anybody understand the Grammys? There seem to be hundreds of categories. Surely there must be one for everybody.

They were hardly "cool" were they. And when you're at Art School it's rock or prog or nothing.

Ahh, dig it man, can just see you with long hair and in your rope sandals, baggy trousers and muslin shirt. 😎

Love the photo you sent me of you at Glasto all those years ago.........

Far out.

46 years old yesterday.
Pretty well a near perfect album.

Nothing to match Albatross, Man of the World and Oh Well though.

When I ran a disco in the early 70s, "Oh Well" was our opening signature tune. Great tune and I seem to remember the track continued on the B side. (45 of course)

Loved Albatross too.

Essentially a different band.
Man of the World is in my Top Ten songs by any artist.
And whilst I love the output of the Peter Green years - worshipped would be a better word when I was a Les Paul (fake)toting kid of 15 - there's a fair bit of padding on those first three albums.
The later line-up, I would dare to suggest, have earnt a bigger place in the musical landscape.

They weren't the same after Geri left.

I have to stop talking about disco, but I will survive.

Sadly I was never able to grow long hair. I have what they call technically call Mad Hair.

As you say two different bands although the common denominators were the two who were named. I much prefer the earlier band which had a much better feel while the latter were a lot more commercial.
