Coming Of Age - Series 3 Page 2

I'm assuming this is pitched at teens?

If TD is writing from a basis of making teens laugh he's being incredibly patronising.

If he's writing from a basis of making older people laugh he's just rubbish.

How gauche :P

But in fairness I didn't realise TD was 19 when first series was commissioned.

Well done to him from that perspective.

It always fascinates me how much Tim Dawson looks like Aaron.

Meh. Mary Shelly wrote Frankenstein when she was 18. And that was actually good.

Not just good but ground breaking, first Gothic novel no?

In fact it's more the commissioners fault rather than TD. He was just a youngster with ambition, they probably thought:

"Ohhh, a young person writing about young people, perfect for our young channel".

Them being totally and successfully out-of-touch with their demographic.

No. The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole, in seventeen sixty something.

Frankenstein was 1818.

I stand corrected, said the man in the orthopedic shoes.

:D

*tumbleweed blows through thread...*

More from the learned one...

'Coming of Age has always had a raucous atmosphere, but in the new series we really wanted to push this. So we've left in as much of the genuine laughter, applause, oohs and aahs from the studio audience as we can...'

...whilst keeping the sounds of booing, retching, flatulence, sobbing and deliberate self-harm low down in the mix.

Every time I've ever watched this I've seen lots of half naked girls, lezzin' up. It's great! :D

Maybe I should give this a watch...

You really shouldn't. You may as well just watch porn... Porn's usually written better too.

But back on topic, I can't believe the BBC have commissioned 3 series of this utter bollocks.

:(

I'm enjoying the way that this series is being totally ignored by preview sections, reviewers and, apparently, the viewing public. The world seems to have calmly turned its back and behaved as though it doesn't exist. Makes one proud to be British. :)
