The record sounds like a prototype for Telstar, perhaps?

The B side of Telstar, imo nearly as good - Joe Meek again...........

Very catchy. You've played Kino and Tsoi before.
Do you think anything will come of the protests?

zilch, ...maybe something in the long run. Tsoy has also a prominent song "Thy Blood Group", others are a little less known. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i7zxpbOcaI

I don't think Lopez knew what sort of song she was singing.
Woody Guthrie was saying, is this land really your land?

I do like his music even though I don't understand the words.
He still seems to be an influence a long time after his death.

We had some fabulous British guitar bands in the early/mid 60s, a genre that faded somewhat, which is a shame. Thank heavens I kept all my 45s!

I think I'll stick one up on here occasionally. :) Let other people remember or hear what they were missing.

This is one I was convinced was the theme music to some contemporary pop prog., but can't find reference to it. Nevertheless, one of my favourite British guitar band intrumentals....................................Dig it man Cool

Was that before or after Apache?
I'm sure the Shadows had quite an influence in those ancient times.

This is all a bit before my time (!) but it seems like The Shadows were just one of many being Cliff's backing band.

Then over the pond they had the Surfaris, the Ventures etc.

Before, and no, The Shadows did not influence these earlier guitar bands - might even be a bit the other way around.

Of course, Numero Uno, and The Shadows were the most consistent with hits. Have a couple of their albums - I just want to show what else was making some great sounds at that time. Instrumental groups were a huge thing in the early 60s

Speaking of 60s guitarists............................

Eric Burdon (Singer)
Hilton Valentine (Lead) who has just died - RIP
Chas Chandler (Bass) who "discovered" and brought to the fore Jimi Hendrix
John Steel (Drums) the only one still playing in a band called The Animals
Alan Price (Keyboards)
