Do you mean legendary rock gods Led Zepplin? And they're seminal classic 'Black Dog'?

:$ Embarrassed to know you now.

To be fair, she probably wasn't even born until after they'd split up.
Although of course, "listening to Led Zep" should really be part of the national curriculum.

That's why I don't read old books - they're all like dead, so why bother? I mean, if there words were any good and that, Hollywood would have made a film of it with like Bruce Willis and robots and 'splosions.

Heh. :D
Just to point out I do listen to some old music. Just not that kind. I prefer a nice bit of Ray Charles to old rock band types.

What sort of music did your parents listen to while you were growing up zooo? I know a lot of these old bands because my dad used to play them all the time.

George Jones is a legend of country music and this is one of the best songs ever written:

Oh blimey. All sorts of crap. Beatles (who I do like), classical, Abba (bleh), and Boney M for some reason.
I grew up listening to all the '80s stuff because of my older sister. I knew every word to every song in the charts by age 5. She used to test me. :)

She did a good service :) 80s music rules the waves!
The Beatles are awesome too.

I detest Morrissy, he is the musical equivalent of blackhead cancer.

Don't be too hasty to pigeon-hole them as an 'old rock band'. Theirs was a revolutionary sound which has continued to influence, but which has never been bettered. Their song-writing also has a diversity which may surprise you.

We should bring back 'Smash Hits' wot used to be on Radio Luxembourg !

Remember?

You wrote in saying which record you really hated, they'd play it and then, being a 78, the sound of it being smashed by a hammer meaning you'd never hear it again !

(Yes, I know there are flaws in that premise.)

:)

From: "EDITED EXCERPTS FROM '208 IT WAS GREAT"

http://www.offringa.nl/bailey.htm

"Our record library was quite comprehensive in the days of 78 rpm shellac discs but, inevitably, because of storage space, we occasionally had a purge which came in very handy for programmes like 'Smash Hits' hosted by Bob Monkhouse and Dennis Goodwin."

If you mean Led Zeppelin they stole a hell of a lot.

He is a bit of an arrogant tosser and does seem to be quite humourless. But he has written some great stuff.
