Simon Cadell

Have been watching Simon Cadell in Hi-De-Hi! lately. What an actor. So sad that he died back in 1996 at the age of 45. The combination of him acting opposite Paul Shane in HDH was fantastic, they worked so well together.

I know somebody who is friends with Su Pollard and back in the 1980s when Su was doing a play with Simon, this person gave Simon a lift to the theatre from his hotel. He said that Mr. Cadell was a very nice man indeed, but smoked fag after fag after fag.

Wish I could have met him, or wish he would have lived longer so we could have experienced his genius further.

Yep, I've also been watching Hi-De-Hi! over the past week. A great talent.

Hickory or mesquite?

Not sure what that means.

No wonder he died young then if he smoked so much. Did you know he was David Croft's Son-In-Law.

Yes, he was married to Croft's daughter Rebecca.

Penny Croft wrote Life Without George which starred Simon Cadell.

Cadell was best friends with David Croft, obviously up until his death.

And his sister is the very talented actress Selina Cadell. (Who was wonderful in the A Bit Of Fry & Laurie sketch 'Dinner With Digby'.)

And his cousin is Guy Siner who was in 'Allo 'Allo!, and an episode of Seinfeld that I was watching the other night.

And a friend of mine knows a woman who had an affair with the brother of Simon Cadell's window-cleaner.

Thus, Morrace wins! :)

Oh well, I suppose we shouldn't hold that against him.

I saw him play Archie in Stoppard's Jumpers, once. He was a really great actor. Have to agree with the OP.
