Favourite piece of art? Page 5

Ooh yes, I like Carravaggio.

For mind boggling greatness Escher is fun.

Yes I LOVE Escher. But I don't think anyof his one pieces are in my top favourites, which is odd.

I never really apprecaited Van Gogh till he was on Dr Who.

Another lovely record that I have framed on my front room wall:

I've always liked Dali's melting clocks.

When I go the Walker art gallery, I am always drawn to this:

Ary Scheffer's Temptation of Christ.

Oh, you mean that thing I've got hanging in the garage? Yes, it's very nice, but not as good as this fine piece of work by C.M. Coolidge...

Dogs playing poker, what's not to love?

Personally, I don't have a favourite piece of art. My problem is that I know a lot about art, but I don't what I like. :(

Quite fond of Magritte though. This is a nice one...

It's a very nice painting, but there's only one problem. Do you see what it is? Yes, that's right, he's messed up and painted the back of the man's head twice - the reflection in the mirror should be of the man's face!!... Good artist, of course, but just like Van Gogh, another beginner's error.

EDIT: BTW, Trabs, what the hell are you doing in my garage? Angry

Also, Tim. You can't see the photographers reflection. :)

Excellent point, one which people who aren't proper art critics like what we are most probably would have missed. :)
