when do you think the media will stop re-using all the christmas songs from the 70s and 80s?I dotn think ever IMHO!

Not in our lifetime I doubt. Like it or not, they are the modern day versions of Christmas Carols.

nb - St Etienne and Tim Burgess (from the Charlatans) 'I was born on Christmas Day' is another great tune.
:D

Never heard this, sounds interesting though.

i personnelly think the christmas songs are being ruined by the x factor, they bring out some normal song and it gets christmas number one why can't we return to the catchy, but tacky tunes of the good ol' days?

Not that i'm a fan or anything, but I do find myself singing along to Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas. Which incidently is the Road to Hell as well, but that was a few years later, following a messy divorce. Whistling nnocently

Sadly (and surprisingly) it wasn't a big hit. Reached about 39 in the chart in 1993. Very typical Saint Etienne sound.
