Recorded For Training Purposes (Series 3)

It's back, and hidden away on the Writers' Room pages:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/opportunity/recorded_for_training_purposes.shtml

3 sketches each max. Deadline 17th November.

Good luck

Dan

We found out about it and were trying to keep it quiet!

Every man for himself!

Women and children trampled underfoot!

Good luck! :)

Cheers, Dan. I might even have something for this.

Good find, Dan. I didn't think they were opening it up for submissions.

Anyone know who's producing this series?

Cheers. Might be worth a shot.

I can remember trying to write sketches for this for a previous series. I got nothing on. Still, that was then, and I have some success writing for radio now. I've already got some ideas.

Well, since Play & Record was shut off, they had to give us something!

Play and Record's not coming back? I thought it was quite succesful.

I think it's coming back, just not taking open submissions.

That'll hit listening figures. It probably only did well last time because of all the non-commissioned writers listening to it to see if their sketches were featured.

It's still got some non-commissioned writers invited. Just not 'Open Doors'. I think there's a bit of stand-up in there this time too (so I'm led to believe), so it's not exactly the same format. Might be wrong though.

Don't bring that up again :(

:D

Ah good! I'll have a go at this 'un.

I actually wrote something earlier today that could suit this.

I seem to remember Bearded Ladies started with an open door policy, then gradually phased out non-commisioned writers as they went on. It's been said before, but the BBC really needs a Weekending or News Huddlines style show, that's long running and open to all.
