Will Any Gentleman? premiered at the Strand Theatre in central London on 6th September 1950, starring Robertson Hare as Henry.
Whilst the original play sees Henry aged in his 50s, Will Any Gentleman...? features the character significantly younger - star George Cole was just 27 years-old at the time of filming.
The film's producers initially wished Cole to mimic Hare's original stage performance as Henry Stirling.
