Jennifer Peters is an attractive young girl from the country who has unconsciously inherited a peculiar power - she stops all forms of machinery after 15 minutes of contact with them. Her fiancé happens to be a watch and clock manufacturer and on discovering this, jilts her hastily to preserve his business. Baffled by his behaviour, Jennifer follows him to London, where she begins a trail of mechanical and romantic confusion.
