Stan gets upset when his Mum and sister keep buying expensive items on higher purchase; with a shortage of bus crews, the money he earns working overtime means he can afford the repayments, but only just.
His job is secure amidst the employment shortage, but when Inspector Blake suggests the company begins employing women bus drivers, he and his colleagues are far from amused. The thought of no overtime and lower wages do not appeal, and the change in working conditions, expectations and rotas at the depot are not best received. It's not long before Stan and Jack set out to sabotage their female counterparts' - although not without complications along the way.
Meanwhile at home, Olive discovers she's pregnant.
