Katy Brand is writing her second film, a comedy road movie.

Libby And Joan Hit The Road reunites her with Genesius Pictures, who made her screenwriting debut Good Luck To You, Leo Grande last year.

Genesius have announced the film as the first project for new company GenStone, a collaboration with sales company Cornerstone Films.

Former sketch act Brand was nominated for best screenplay for Leo Grande in the British Independent Film Awards. The feature, which starred Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack as a sexually unfulfilled widow and the sex worker she hires, also attracted a nod for best independent film, with Thompson receiving Bafta and Golden Globe acting nominations as well.

Further plot details of Libby And Joan Hit The Road, a UK-Australian co-production with The Reset Collective, are yet to emerge.

Also on Genesius' upcoming slate is vampire comedy The Radleys, based on Matt Haig's young adult novel and starring Damian Lewis. The script was originally developed by comedian Jo Brand and has now been taken over by Talitha Stevenson.

Debbie Gray, founder of Genesius, said: "To develop content together which ensures it can be produced and sold internationally is very exciting. We are committed to the independent film market and hope this partnership brings great opportunities for writers and filmmakers."
