Each year a star-studded line up of comedians join host Jimmy Carr to battle it out to see who knows most about the news and events of the past 12 months.

Timed to coincide with the run-up for Channel 4's 30th birthday celebrations in Autumn 2012, three special episodes were broadcast, each focussing on an entire decade: the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, respectively.

Our Review: Whilst often highly entertaining, featuring as it does a selection of the best comics in the country, The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year can also be incredibly tedious. At two hours long, there seems to be an advert break every 5 minutes, and if a guest is not quite up to scratch or otherwise annoying in some way - well, it's almost intolerable. Nevertheless, there's a certain amount of guaranteed entertainment in the show, and it remains a popular fixture in Channel 4's Christmas/New Year schedule.
