Hot Gossip is a show in which professionally witty, catty and clever 'gossip-mongers' compete to have the hottest gossip. There are no teams - it's every girl/boy for themselves.

The cat fight is controlled by the host, Claudia Winkleman. The questions do not require a factual answer, they simply act as spring boards for players to unleash a stream of caustic, witty and often slightly unhinged opinion... after each player has let loose, Claudia decides which one she deems to be the funniest.

Set in a sumptuous salon, the show's series of regular rounds include 'Where's My Line', 'Three In A Bed' and 'Ask A Stupid Question'.

Our Review: The positive of this programme is that the panellists are encouraged to be as catty and bitchy as they can be. Unfortunately, most of the guests are not up to the job, and the format saps the entertainment value from the few that are.

Should there be another series, a longer recording time with more editing is definitely required as at the moment rubbish lines and gags that fall flat are left in the show... gags which a programme of higher quality would have cut (for example, in Episode 2.1 there was a round in which the panel couldn't think of anything funny to respond with... but this round wasn't cut out of broadcast episode so we were left to listen to their un-amusing pondering).
