Love this..........

Tony Christie - Avenues and Alleyways

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj4UFqKG5YI

Theme to TV series "The Protectors". He was a mate of Joe Cocker. What stands out in my memory is that it was a shock flop although I believe a version of it was on a Pickwick album. That was owned by Jenny Anderson who, while being in my class, I now consider was the epitome of Bobbie Gentry - well, sort of!!!

Google informs that it only made No 37. So my recollection from 43 years ago is about right. Bonus marks!

'Sright and I bought the album many years ago just for that track. >_<

Rhapsody in the Rain - Lou Christie

Busload Of Faith - Lou Reed

Now this I really do like - fabulous

George Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue

Oh yes......Manhattan.

Copland is one of my Top 5 classical composers but Gershwin is also definitely Top 20.

Although he is almost beyond categorisation. :)

A lot of jazz notes there. :)

He knew how to knock out a good tune. :D

When I listen to that I can see the city in all its phases - brilliant piece of writing.

And was a dab hand on the old joanna.

Blue Rondo a la Turk - Dave Brubeck Quartet :)
