Tell us a bit about Martin?

Martin is the ex-boyfriend to Eileen's character, Alison, and I don't know how long they have been split up for. At the start of this series she has been on the dating scene, but it's not really been working out, so she decides she wants to have a baby and to get married. She decides to get in touch with Martin and wants to meet him for dinner. She tells him she wants to get back together with him and Martin says yes because he's madly in love with her and he's a bit of a sap. He doesn't let people walk all over him, but he's a bit of a yes man and he's too good for his own good. He's a character I really like and someone the audience will also really like and has sympathy for.

Martin and Alison are getting back together, and it feels a little bit like she's settling, do you think this is the same for Martin?

No, I wouldn't say he's settling. He is madly in love with her and he jumps at the chance to get back with her. She basically broke his heart, even though he was out dating other women and being very successful at it. When she asked him to get back together with him, he thinks she's joking, but when he find out she is being serious with him, he jumps at the chance, so he is certainly not settling.

Dublin's Sex In The City.

What was your favourite part about filming the show?

Do you know what, working with Eileen because when you go on a show and you have to play someone's girlfriend or boyfriend or husband or wife, it's quite dauting because there's always the chance you might not get on or click. Luckily from day one me and Eileen clicked and just got on like an absolute house on fire.

Most of my scenes were with Eileen. There were a few scenes where the other actors were around, but it was basically me and Eileen the whole time and working with her and getting to know her. I met her husband, family and kids. So, working with Eileen and Annie who got the best out of me and she did it very easily. Also getting to work in Dublin, I haven't been in Dublin for a very long time. I sort of re-fell in love with Dublin.

Do we learn the full extent of his dating throughout the series?

Not really. There's a couple of lovely scenes where we are out for dinner and we end up bumping into girls that he was dating while they weren't together. Alison comes to realise that he was a bit of a stud actually and she can't really believe it. I think it makes her more attracted to him as the series goes on because she thought he was just sitting in his living room watching Game Of Thrones when he was actually out pulling women.
