A sorry romance
Sexual encounter was the theme of yesterday's Sorry About Last Night (BBC1), but Alexei Sayle's one-off play (billed as a light, romantic comedy) turned out to be a leaden, romantic tragedy. [...] With few good gags and a lamentable plot, only a cracking performance by the actors could have saved the show. But Alexei Sayle had covered that eventuality too, scouring the country for a suitable Andy and eventually giving the part to Mr A Sayle, a fine stand-up comedian but a lousy romantic lead.
