Series 1

1. Partnership

First broadcast: Thursday 29th January 1981

It's the day of their divorce and Rupert has to try and persuade Diana to give up the shares in the Bannister business that he gave her on their wedding night.


2. Business Relations

First broadcast: Thursday 5th February 1981

After failing to retrieve the shares during the divorce, Rupert now has to put his expansion plans on hold and hope that his wife hasn't discovered why he wants them back.


3. Marriage Of Convenience

First broadcast: Thursday 12th February 1981

Rupert's attempt to sell his company as a happy family firm means he has to persuade Diana to pretend she is still his wife in order to impress an important financier. Not a plan that impresses his new love!


4. Fair Shares

First broadcast: Thursday 19th February 1981

After finally getting Diana to return her shares, Rupert finds himself handing them back half-an-hour later in order to gain some information she has on a new housing estate. He is keen to get himself accidentally locked in at one of the new show houses!


5. Conventional Behaviour

First broadcast: Thursday 26th February 1981

Rupert has been invited to a business conference in Brighton and the venue provides him with a golden opportunity to make 'new friends' - not that he will admit that is a reason to attend of course.


6. New Engagement

First broadcast: Thursday 5th March 1981

With his decree becoming absolute in 24 hours, Rupert suddenly sees the benefit of Diana to his company as she effortlessly solves one crisis after another at Bannister's Bathroom Fittings. If only they could solve their own problems quite so easily...
