Jessica Thom, also known as Touretteshero, is developing a TV series.

Thom, who has had tics since she was a child but wasn't diagnosed with Tourette's until she was in her twenties, is a writer and performer who has put on a number of live shows to date. She also founded touretteshero.com, a website to celebrate the humour and creativity of Tourette's.

It has been revealed today that she is now working with writer Georgia Pritchett (Veep, The Thick Of It) and regular Touretteshero collaborator Matthew Pountney to make a scripted TV comedy series partially based on her life.

The project is in development with new production company Hare and Tortoise, which is backed by FremantleMediaUK. They confirm the intention is to "weave a scripted series out of Jess' extraordinary world."

The project is currently at the development stage, and further details are expected to be revealed in due course.
