Jack Dee's Full Mountie

By adopting the persona of the droll who never smiles, Dee painted himself into a comedic corner long ago, which is why he's increasingly turned to the stage, and now to the last refuge of the clapped-out stand-up, presenting a series about comedy. Jack Dee's Full Mountie (BBC1) is yet another programme based on old clips from Montreal's annual "Just For Laughs" festival, interspersed with mini-interviews conducted by Dee, who last night sported some rebellious stubble he'd obviously spent days growing to exactly the right length for the shoot.
