New book The Insider's Guide To Inside No. 9 is due to be published in October, featuring an episode-by-episode guide to the first five series of the hit comedy series.

Sub-titled "Behind the scenes of the award winning BBC TV series", The Insider's Guide To Inside No. 9 will feature 256 pages of content focused on the hit comedy anthology show written by and starring Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.

The guide has been compiled - with input from the show's creators - by Mark Salisbury, the screenwriter and author who has previously worked on tie-ins such as James Bond book No Time To Die, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Moviemaking Magic of Star Wars.

The book will be published by Hodder Studio, who last year distributed transcripts from the series via Inside No. 9 - The Scripts: Series 1-3.

Inside No. 9, which won a BAFTA for Scripted Comedy earlier this month, concluded its sixth series on BBC Two last night. A seventh series has been written and is due to go into production later this year.

The sixth series will be released on DVD next Monday. Meanwhile The Insider's Guide To Inside No. 9 has been scheduled for publication on 28th October 2021.

The blurb for the book says: "Welcome, reader, to the experience of a lifetime: a behind-the-scenes tour of the remarkable Bafta award-winning series. This show-by-show guide reveals the genesis of each episode's idea through to the scripting, casting, design, direction, and production - where you'll have access to the minds and imaginations of creators Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.

"Filled with the show's dark humour and behind-the-scenes photographs, production stills, mood boards and concept drawings, you'll find yourself delighted and disturbed in equal measure. Every episode from the first five series will be covered by interviews with key creatives and discussion of the inspiration and creation behind every moment."

The Insider's Guide To Inside No. 9 is available to pre-order now.

If you order from Waterstones you can enter the competition to win a personalised video message from Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.
